I'm knocking around an idea for eatsalem.com.
Hopefully, I'll spring into action soon and quit with this long rumination.
I thought it would be fun to gather a group together and do a weekly happy hour review--on an off day of the week. Maybe come up with a simple score sheet of some kind.
Would 4 rating areas be enough? Something like: ambiance, available times, quality of food and drink deals.
I love the idea of a happy hour meeting. Hopefully I can make it to an Eat Salem group gathering one of these days. Night meetings always seem to conflict.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can make it to one of the meetings sometime. We have a good time and end up talking about fun random Salem stuff until Salem Man arrives to put us back on track. :>)
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you want to be a part of the happy hour group. I think it will be fun quest.
That's a great idea. I've never really been one to consider happy hours until we were at the coast with a friend and stopped into McMenamin's in Lincoln City for a brew. It was during happy hour and we got beer and food for $13 for 3 people! Score!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see EatSalem people more, and enjoy more happy hours, and help others discover happy hour, too!
Although there has to be a point taken away if their happy HOUR lasts more than two hours. Unless they then call it happy HOURS.
A year ago I overheard a fun conversation about a happy hour group while getting my haircut and then I saw an online piece about yet another happy hour group who have rating cards they take with them and fill out.
ReplyDeleteSeemed like a fun way to highlight some places downtown and around, too.
I'd be game for a little happy hour. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
