Part-time Worm Farmer

Everyday, the past two weeks, when I've watered my container plants, I water my wood worm box, too. And then wonder if they're getting enough moisture . . . until I'm done with the watering, then I've already tucked them away in my brain. Poor worms!

While I was sitting in the backyard reading this afternoon, one of the resident Robins kept hopping over to proudly show off her beak full of wigglers.
Aha! Check the worms!
Sure enough, they were on the dry side, particularly in the bottom tray. I pushed the bedding aside, added more yummy kitchen waste and topped each tray off with some fresh, shredded, wetted and squeezed newspaper.
Bon Appetit, my wiggly friends!
